A Total Eye Opener! Article: How Smartphones Throw the Homeless a Lifeline

Many of you know that we are planning to develop a food bank integrated version of our app. The idea was to help fight hunger by using the app to match surplus food from restaurants and even private parties to food banks and other charities.

The preliminary design was created with the assumption that homeless people had no access to the Internet…much less smart phones.

This article shows that nothing could be further from the truth.

Clearly this is something we need to investigate. If there are enough homeless people that use smart phones, then we MUST modify the design of the food bank version of the app so they can use it. After all, our motto is to help people "Find Their Next Great Meal."

If any of you has any insights into this, please let us know!

Thank you, Mashable, for opening my eyes!

After Hurricane Sandy forced Google to cancel an event planned in New York today to show off new Android devices, it’s launching them anyway–keeping the search giant in pitched competition with Apple.
